It was announced on Thursday that Lynch was one of 15 finalists for the Hall's Class of 2019.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2019 will be announced during a two-hour primetime special that will air the night before the Super Bowl, on February 2. This is the sixth time that Lynch has been named a finalist.

Senior committee nominee Johnny Robinson and contributors finalists Gil Brandt and Pat Bowlen are also under consideration for induction into the HOF but are not part of the modern-era class. Including the modern cap of five, between four and eight new members will be elected. Inductions are August 3 in Canton, Ohio.

Bailey, who never won a Super Bowl, is still looked at amongst the all-time greats at the cornerback position.

Longtime San Diego Chargers coach Don Coryell and Raiders coach Tom Flores were the two coaches who made the finalist list. He ended his career with one season in the desert in 2010, starting all 16 games. The legendary tight end was inducted into the Chiefs' Hall of Fame on December 13.

Gonzalez's 1,325 career receptions are the second-most in National Football League history behind only Jerry Rice; his 15,127 career receiving yards are sixth-most all time and his 111 receiving touchdowns are eight-most all time.

Gonzalez played 17 seasons with the Chiefs and Falcons, but never made a Super Bowl.

Lynch played free safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1993 until 2003 and then for the Denver Broncos from 2004 until 2007.
