Vernita Lee, Mother Of Oprah Winfrey, Is Dead At 83

During her time on this earth, Oprah has donated more money to charity than any other African-American, other than Michael Jackson.

A statement said: "The family of Vernita Lee are saddened to share of her passing on November 22, 2018 at her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin".

Lee has reportedly already been laid to rest and a private memorial service has been held for her.

No other details were given.

Emotions remained raw for Oprah when she described her childhood during one of her last shows, telling her audience, "I was a lonely little girl".
