U.S. announces $5 million reward for information on 26/11 attackers

In the barbaric attack unleashed on November 26, 2008 by 10 LeT fedayeen from Pakistan, 166 people, six of whom were USA nationals, were killed.

"We call upon all countries, particularly Pakistan, to uphold their UN Security Council obligations to implement sanctions against the terrorists responsible for this atrocity, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its affiliates", he said. The barbarity of 26/11 shocked the entire world.

Mumbai's police force will remember the more than a dozen officers who were killed, many while fighting the militants, at a ceremony starting at 09:30 am local time. They targeted two luxury hotels, a Jewish center, a tourist restaurant and a crowded train station.

On 26 November 2008, 10 members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a recognised terror outfit, carried out 12 shootings and bombings across Mumbai, in a siege that lasted four days and claimed at least 160 lives.

The gunmen who waged the attack were killed or captured.

This comes in the wake of the U.S. reiterating that the United States dollars 1.3 billion in aid to Pakistan would remain suspended until the country acts against militant safe heavens inside its territory.

"We stand with the families and friends of the victims, whose loved ones were lost in this act of barbarism, including six American citizens".

Trump took to Twitter on Monday and said the Unites States stands with the people of India in their quest for justice over the 26/11 attack.

In April 2012, the Department of State announced reward offers for information that brings to justice LeT founder Hafiz Mohammad Saeed and Hafiz Abdul Rahman Makki, another senior LeT leader.

"It is a matter of deep anguish that even after 10 years of this heinous terror attack, the families of 166 victims from 15 countries across the globe still await closure", it said.

"The attack killed 166 innocents, including six Americans".

The current rabbi is to unveil a new memorial at the centre to all those who died in the 26/11 attacks.
