RNC Chairmwoman Ronna McDaniel isn't backing down as Democrats continue their efforts to steal Florida Governor Rick Scott's rightfully earned U.S. Senate seat.

The majority of uncounted votes are in Palm Beach and Broward County, which are traditionally democratic strongholds. Shortly after, President Donald Trump tweeted that law enforcement was looking into another big corruption scandal, claiming "Florida voted for Rick Scott!".

"I will not stand idly by while unethical liberals try to steal an election", Mr Scott said during a news conference.

A spokeswoman says state law enforcement officials in Florida have not launched any elections-fraud allegations.

Scott now leads Nelson by only 15,000 votes, well under the threshold for an automatic recount to be triggered under state law.

In Arizona, hundreds of thousands of ballots were still left to be counted in a fierce battle for the Senate as Kyrsten Sinema - now a Democratic congresswoman - edged ahead of Martha McSally, a Republican congresswoman.

Elections officials in Broward County, where Democrats have a large advantage, were still reviewing ballots Thursday.

Nelson filed his own federal lawsuit Friday, seeking to postpone the Saturday deadline to submit unofficial election results.

Rancor was spilling into governors' races, where Andrew Gillum in Florida and Stacey Abrams in Georgia were aiming to become the states' first African-American leaders, but the contests were tilting in favor of their Republican rivals. As of Thursday night, "Gillum trailed DeSantis by about 36,000 votes, or 0.44 percentage points", according to the Orlando Sentinel. Now with two of the state's most Democratic counties still filing unofficial results, Scott's lead has shrunk to less than the half a percentage point that would allow for a recount.

"If you look at Broward County, they have had a terrible history", he said, "and if you look at the person, in this case a woman, involved, she has had a disgusting history, and all of a sudden, they're finding votes out of nowhere". Marco Rubio have implied that Broward County election officials are committing fraud by miscounting or creating votes.

Earlier Friday, Nelson lawyer Marc Elias criticized Scott for suggesting that he might get the state government involved.

In the now-infamous presidential election of 2000, the U.S. Supreme Court stopped a manual recount in Florida with Republican George W. Bush leading Democrat Al Gore by 537 votes. "It is sad and embarrassing that Bill Nelson would resort to these low tactics after the voters have clearly spoken".

Scott, Florida's governor, is suing two of his state's counties - Broward and Palm Beach - asking for an investigation of the tens of thousands of votes trickling in days after the election, which have narrowed his lead enough to trigger a recount.

Gaetz, whose district is in Florida's Panhandle, also said the state should take over the Broward elections office.

The hiring came after Scott derided Nelson for hiring Elias as "one of Hillary Clinton's lawyers from D.C".
