In an interview in September, in the context of her opinion on #MeToo Movement and sexual harassment against women in Bollywood, Tanushree spoke out her personal experience of facing it at the hands of Nana on the set of "Horn "OK" Pleassss" in 2008.

An officer told Hindustan Times, "The narrative of the video was edited in a way that it looks like Kumar is expressing his views on the Dutta-Patekar controversy, which he never did. After recording the statement, we will take the next step". However, on the fourth day of the shoot, Nana Patekar's behavior was ill-fated.

Dutta's claims sparked a number of allegations against men in India's media and entertainment industry.

When Tanushree put her foot down and was about to leave the set, Nana allegedly called members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena to intimidate her with violence.

On the way out, her vehicle was brutally attacked but with the help of the police, she managed to escape from the spot, the complaint further read. Dutta has said that Patekar had harassed her during the shooting of a film in 2008 and she had spoken out about the incident but nothing happened and she was even thrown out of the film. Many parts of my complaint were deleted, omitted and avoided, she alleged. He also added, that if any girl goes through sexual harassment, she should speak up about it and take the charge. And just last week, on being confronted by the media, he said he had answered the questions about it 10 years ago. "Jo jhooth hai, woh jhooth hai (A lie is a lie)" he said before getting into a auto. According to news agency ANI, the Maharashtra State Commission for Women issued notices to Nana Patekar, film director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya, among others, in connection with the case.
