The Department of Homeland Security has said there are no links to worldwide terrorism. "And I'm committed to doing everything in my power as president to stop it and to stop it now".

Sayoc is 56 years old and is based in Aventura, Florida.

Television images from Plantation showed investigators using a blue tarp to cover a white van, which was plastered with political decals and stickers including several of Trump, before removing it on a truck.

After Sayoc was taken into custody, the Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed they found another package on Friday evening.

With his possible identity known, investigators checked his cell phone number against cell phone towers in the vicinity to see if they matched the location and timing for when the packages originated, according to a law enforcement official.

No one claimed responsibility for parcel bombs, which were denounced by authorities as terrorism, and came less than two weeks ahead of United States congressional elections that could alter the balance of power in Washington.

A thirteenth suspicious parcel was discovered addressed to Democratic U.S. Senator Kamala Harris of California, CNN said.

After federal agents took Sayoc into custody, he told investigators that the pipe bombs wouldn't have hurt anyone and that he didn't want to harm anyone, a law enforcement official told CNN.

Ronald Lowy, a Miami attorney, said Sayoc showed no ability at the time to back up his threat with any bomb-making expertise.

A man named Dre, a manager at a used vehicle dealership next door to the AutoZone, said he heard a loud noise that sounded like an explosion shortly after 11 a.m. "I could really tone it up because as you know the media's been very unfair to me and the Republican Party", he said.

"It was mostly just small talk", she said.

Khashoggi was victim of an extrajudicial execution — United Nations official
He had been planning to settle in Istanbul and marry his Turkish fiancee when he was detained and killed in the Saudi Consulate. A columnist for The Washington Post, Khashoggi was last seen on October 2 when he entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.

But in a morning Twitter post before the arrest was announced, the president characterized the attempted bombings as an obstacle blocking Republican voters ahead of the midterms.

Packages that surfaced earlier in the week were addressed to Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, billionaire Democratic Party donor George Soros, Representative Maxine Waters, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan, and actor Robert De Niro.

There has been an outcry from Trump's critics, who charged that his inflammatory rhetoric against Democrats and the press has created a climate for politically motivated violence.

Trump was singled out for praise, deemed the "best president ever" in one tweet, while a man appearing be to Sayoc posted a video from an unidentified Trump rally, featuring supporters chanting the president's name. None of the devices has detonated, and no injuries have been reported.

Wray added that authorities believe other bombs may still be found.

Facebook said it found accounts belonging to Sayoc on its main social network and its Instagram service and removed them.

The suspected Florida mail bomber is a lost and "sick individual' who estranged himself from his family but eventually "found a father" in President Trump, his family's lawyer said". The official said the devices were made from PVC pipe and covered with black tape.

Sayoc was expected to be held at the Federal Detention Center in downtown Miami and make his first appearance before a judge on Monday, according to former Assistant U.S. Attorney David Weinstein.

A few more packages turned up on Thursday, addressed to former VP Joe Biden and to actor Robert De Niro's Manhattan restaurant. "He lives in a fantasy world", Lowy said to local outlets.

The devices included very common components, making it more hard to get clues from the signature of the bomb.
