Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota looks to pass during the first half against the Miami Dolphins.

The Saint Louis alum was hurt early in the third quarter when hit on the right side by William Hayes.

"I thought it was late and low, but that's not a decision for me to make", said Mariota, who motioned to a nearby official after absorbing the hit. The 98-yard drive was Miami's longest since 1989. When the game restarted a second time Sunday afternoon, it was four hours behind schedule and already the longest game in National Football League history. Lewan was removed from the game following the play.

Stills iced the Dolphins' win when he torched Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler for a 75-yard touchdown from Tannehill with 10:22 remaining, giving Miami a 24-10 advantage.

The Titans had crossed midfield when Jones intercepted a Gabbert pass, and Jason Sanders' 30-yard field goal iced the game with 3:49 to go.

"Offensively, having Ryan back has been so valuable for us", Gase said. He returned to the contest, but things didn't get any better. The Titans also lost longtime tight end Delanie Walker with a serious leg injury. NFL Network reports that he suffered a dislocated ankle and associated fracture, likely ending his season.

"Disappointing because he puts a lot into it", Vrabel said of Walker's injury.

But I chatted with all three of those guys and they seemed respectful enough. "When I disagreed, it was pretty apparent I'd say". He had, in fact, attended a rally with Vice President Mike Pence the month before, also in Billings, with little fanfare.

Being the first game of the season, you can expect opening game jitters, a little rust and lack of cohesiveness to cause your share of mistakes. The teams went to the locker room during the delay and stayed on the field for halftime, which was shortened to three minutes.

Lightning forced a halt again midway through the third quarter, and the second stoppage lasted just over two hours.

"If that's legal, then we have to do it the same exact way", Vrabel said. "He plays hard, been a productive player for us and somebody that I was excited to coach and be with".

Sandwiched between the delays was a brawl that started after Lewan appeared to be briefly knocked out.

The Dolphins won their season opener against the Titans. "It was wild, but I'm really proud of our guys the way we responded".

"I'm going to do whatever the coaches want".

"I left a lot out there", Tannehill said. During the run-back, defensive end Andre Branch made a crack-back block on Lewan, flooring him and setting off a brief skirmish between the teams.
