The Eagles have used Foles as their starter throughout the preseason while Wentz continues to recover.

- Nick Foles is expected to be the Philadelphia Eagles' starter in the team's season opener Thursday against the Atlanta Falcons, ESPN's Tim McManus reports.

"I'm not going to discuss it", Pederson said.

When asked what words were put in his mouth, he tersely responded, "You saw the reports".

Foles and the Eagles will begin their Super Bowl defense on September 6 by hosting the Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Wentz still hasn't been medically cleared for contact as he comes back from surgery last December to fix two torn ligaments in his left knee.

"He starts shooting you videos", Howard Roseman, the Eagles' executive vice president of football operations, told reporters on Saturday.

"We got a lot of days left", Pederson said four days before his season begins. Foles took 264 team reps during training camp practices that were open to the media.

Quinn claimed that his team was more concerned about preparing for the Eagles' offense overall, rather than for Foles or Wentz. It could be the quarterback who struggled at the end of last regular season against the Raiders and Cowboys, or the one who torched the Vikings and Patriots as he led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl.

However, Foles did not carry that level of play into his preseason appearances, when he completed 16 of 26 passes for 171 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. He competed 71.9 percent of passes in three postseason games previous year with eight touchdowns and one interception.
