Christine Blasey Ford testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill September 27, 2018 in Washington, DC.

"Indelible in the hippocampus of the nation is the power of Christine Blasey Ford's testimony", Philip Gourevitch tweeted as it was happening. She does not allege that Kavanaugh attempted to rape her, but says she was the victim of one of these alleged gang rapes and suggests he participated in others.

"When I see it, I view it differently than someone sitting home watching television where they say, 'Oh, Judge Kavanaugh this and that'". He is expected to testify later in the day.

Trump, at a wild press conference on Wednesday, vacillated between casting doubt on Ford's accusations, testifying to Kavanaugh's sterling reputation and intellect, blasting Democrats as con artists, and finally saying he could be convinced Ford was telling the truth during the hearing.

Kavanaugh's comments Thursday came in an extraordinary, 45-minute opening statement in which he repeatedly expressed rancor toward Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee. "They have haunted me [and] been seared into my memory and have been hard to beat episodically as an adult", she said through tears'. All three of Ford's so-called witnesses, one of whom is a lifelong friend of Ford's, also say they have no memory of the assault or the house party. "Her ex-boyfriend fraudulently used her resume to apply for and obtain jobs and was caught by her", said Avenatti.

She continued, "In explaining why I wanted to have a second front door, I described the assault in detail". "I yelled, hoping that someone downstairs might hear me".

On the eve of her testimony, an examination taken by Ford on August 7 was released, showing that she passed a polygraph test over the sexual assault allegations. "I am terrified", she said according to The Guardian. "He held me down and put his hand on my mouth to stop me from screaming for help". She said no. Asked how certain she was Justice Kavanaugh had assaulted her, she said "100 per cent".

Blasey Ford said she managed to escape when Judge jumped on the bed, sending them all toppling.

Elliott said he needs to have "better awareness" of where he is on the field and felt the fumble "cost us the game". Carson finished with 102 yards, the first Seattle running back to top 100 yards since late in the 2016 season.

Investigators with the Senate Judiciary Committee asked Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh about two previously undisclosed accusations of sexual misconduct during a phone call Tuesday, according to a transcript of the call released Wednesday night.

"I am not here because I want to be".

Ford is one of a growing number of accusers who have requested FBI investigations into their claims against Kavanaugh. Women voters have already been abandoning the Republican Party amid a series of controversies during Trump's presidency, polls show. "If I thought he was guilty of something like this, yes, sure".

"It's not going to change any of the Democrats' minds".

"I've had a lot of false charges made against me", he said.

"I have been accused of acting out of partisan political motives", she said. "I am an independent person", she said. "She's really determined. She's fierce, she's smart". He denies the allegations.

"But first, Ford will step forward to tell her story - exposing herself to the world, instantly becoming an icon of the social revolution unleashed by the #MeToo moment and putting her own reputation and her family's safety at risk". Her husband, Russell Ford is not there.
