The White House said Wednesday President Trump wrote a letter of introduction for Republican Sen.

Paul described the letter from Trump as a correspondence that "emphasized the importance of further engagement in various areas including countering terrorism, enhancing legislative dialogue and resuming cultural exchanges".

Christopher J. Gagin, who revealed he was the Republican Party chairman from OH who resigned after the Helsinki summit, pointed out that Trump defended Putin's denials of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

In addition, Putin in Helsinki allegedly spoke with trump about the new ban the deployment of weapons in outer space and called for the establishment of a consultative mechanism at the level of Ministers of defence and foreign Affairs.

Trump has been under increasing pressure from his advisers to condemn Russia's aggression, said current and former administration officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to be candid.

During the last month's summit in Helsinki, Putin and US President Donald Trump held a two-hour private meeting including only themselves and their translators.

The three Trump supporters said they were comfortable with the widely panned display from the USA president, and proceeded to clash with the dissenters.

Paul delivered the letter to representatives of Putin because the Russian leader has been away from Moscow all week.

Trump sparked outrage by largely accepting Putin's word over that of his intelligence agencies at the Helsinki news conference. On the Senate floor, Paul objected to a resolution expressing support for the intelligence community, as well as special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, calling it a sign of "Trump derangement syndrome".

Republican Senator Marco Rubio wants a vote on a bill called DETER that would impose new sanctions if USA intelligence officials determine Russian Federation meddled in US elections. In addition to tensions over election meddling, the two countries are also at odds over Syria and Ukraine.

It is also the latest example of Paul making overtures to Russian officials that are out of step with congressional GOP leaders, who have not blessed his visit.
