Gonzalo Higuain Is AC Milan Player, Leonardo Bonucci Goes Other Way

Argentina striker Higuain, 30, has been replaced at the Allianz Stadium by Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is believed that the Rossoneri are close to signing the one-time capped Italian global as part of a sensational swap deal that would see veteran centre-half Leonardo Bonucci return to Juventus only a year later after he had left Turin for Milan.

"Juventus Football Club announces the return of Leonardo Bonucci after the defender completed his move from AC Milan", the club stated on its official website, confirming a five-year deal for the 31-year-old Italy worldwide.

Despite this taking back the ageing Bonucci, who started the season sluggishly for his new team after taking the captain's armband before regaining form, makes sense for a club competing for an eighth straight Serie A title.

He then joined Juve for €90m when they activated a release clause in his contract, making him the most expensive transfer in Italian football at the time.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has hinted striker Alvaro Morata could be on his way out this summer.

Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain celebrates his goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the Uefa Champions League second-leg on 7 March 2018. He had a subdued World Cup, starting one game and appearing as a substitute in two more and failing to score a goal.

Caldara, 24, also signed a five-year deal with Milan.

The centre back spent seven years with the Bianconeri before moving to AC Milan last summer for 42 million euros.

Add Gianluigi Donnarumma to the mix between the posts, along with Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria, and Milan have a young group of Italian defenders capable of cementing the club's back line for years to come.

"Not at this moment, no, because I will see them on Saturday for the first time", said Sarri.
