The Monterey County Sheriff's Office says they've found missing OR woman Angela Hernandez south of Big Sur and she's being transported to the hospital.

Angela Hernandez was driving from Portland to Lancaster, near Los Angeles, to visit her sister Isabel when she saw on animal on the road and swerved to avoid it, sending her vehicle plummeting 200ft off a Big Sur cliff on July 6.

Authorities were alerted by a couple who spotted the woman's white Jeep and heard her cries for help Friday evening, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

The hikers discovered Hernandez conscious, breathing and with a shoulder injury, Thornburg said.

Local resident Chelsea Moore was hiking in Big Sur with her husband when they found Hernandez on Friday night, according to Moore's mother, Luanna Sandvik.

Rescuers got her to the top of the cliff, where a helicopter flew her to hospital. "Reports are she was talking and could walk". She was in fair and stable condition but appeared to have suffered a concussion during the collision, the California Highway Patrol said in a statement.

She told investigators she had swerved to avoid hitting an animal on Highway 1, California's famed coastal road.

Andrea Hernandez, 23, was reported missing July 6 when she failed to show up at her sister's house in Southern California, police said.

"I just want to thank everybody that helped", Hernandez's sister, Isabel Hernandez, told the news station through tears. It's not going to be an easy recovery.

Hernandez's Jeep Patriot apparently ran off Highway 1, the north-south highway that hugs the Pacific coastline.

Once located, deputies confirmed that it was Angela Hernandez and that she was being transported to the hospital. She says she has been there since July 6.
