Roma confirmed on Monday that they had reached an agreement to bring the 21-year-old to the Italian capital for a fee of €38m (£34m/$44m).

Roma looked set to sign the promising young winger, but Barcelona lodged a last-minute bid to hijack a deal.

Malcom was extremely close to signing for Roma in a €32m+€4m deal but at the last moment Barcelona made a bid to secure the winger's signature.

Malcom agreed a five-year deal to move to the Camp Nou, with a release clause expected to be fixed at €400m. The operation will cost 41 million euros and 1 million in variables.

Malcom Filipe Silva da Oliveira, now on the books of Bordeaux, will soon become Barcelona's third signing of the summer.
