Israeli gunfire, tear gas injure 100 as Gaza protest resumes

In Gaza, at least 115 Palestinians had been killed and almost 3,800 wounded by Israeli army fire in previous protests near the border fence. The overwhelming majority of the dead and wounded have been unarmed, according to Gaza health officials.

The army also killed a Palestinian child, identified as Haitham Mohammad Khalil al-Jamal, 15, from Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

In total, more than 110 people have been killed in the clashes between the IDF and protesters. Israel said militants had attacked its forces with guns and grenades.

He added that the army also shot five journalists, including Mohammad al-Baba, who works for the French Press Agency, and was injured with a live round in his thigh. He is to undergo surgery.

The immediate shift of U.S. policy in Israel Palestine conflict was widely criticized by its allied countries especially United Kingdom, France and European Union.

Some 10,000 demonstrators showed up this week, a far lower turnout than at the protests' peak on May 14, when 50,000 Palestinians massed on the border and 60 were killed by Israeli troops.
