‘Fortnite’ for Nintendo Switch Released During E3 Direct

After the Fortnite for Nintendo Switch announcement, Nick Chester, Public Relations Manager at Epic Games, confirmed that the game would support cross-play between the various gaming systems.

You can play Fortnite on a PC, switch to a MacBook, move to an iPhone, and play later on an Xbox One, then in the morning play on your Nintendo Switch, all on the same account.

Fortnite is certain to grab the short-term attention of players, but it's not necessarily a game that will sell hardware. You can download it from the Microsoft Store here. Like the other versions, you only have to spend money if you want the game's premium features, which are very much optional.

Epic Games has yet to officially confirm the existence of Fortnite on Switch, but at this point, it would be shocking not to see the game tomorrow. An Epic games representative told GameSpot, "We have no plans for Save the World on Switch".

Similar to the standard Fortnite Battle Royale Starter Pack, the Wingman is available for just $4.99 and includes an assortment of cosmetics and in-game money.

There's a bit of a disconnect between the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch when it comes to Fortnite. In addition to local multiplayer against others playing on their Switches, you'll also get cross-platform play, against those on PCs, Macs, Xbox One, Android and iOS.

Using the Shotgun Tool, Aarons was able to see plenty of details for the free-to-play game, including the fact that it will be released tomorrow, June 12.

Despite being free, there are 100 tiers of weapons, outfits and gear that can be purchased using the in-game currency called V-Bucks.
