Denmark vs. France - Football Match Report

Christian Eriksen played and Spurs teammate Hugo Lloris watched on as Denmark and France played out one of the less memorable games of Russian Federation 2018 so far but a 0-0 draw will have pleased both sides' coaches and fans. Both the teams are playing their last group match. Andreas Christensen played a whole range of positions as youth player at Chelsea (full-back, center-back, central midfield, holding midfield) and against France, Denmark coach Age Hareide used him as a sort of sweeper in front of the defence, deputized with picking up Griezmann when he dropped deep for the ball. There's a slim chance that Denmark could be sent home if they lose this game, and Australia has a higher goal differential (they're now down by two goals).

It was the longest a World Cup had gone without a goalless draw since 1954, a tournament of 26 games which all delivered at least one goal.

Didier Deschamps' side are already qualified and would clinch first place with a draw in Moscow, a result that would also send Denmark through as runners-up irrespective of Australia's result against Peru.

Griezmann set up Giroud, but a late offside flag spared the blushes of the striker - scorer of Les Bleus' last three goals against Denmark - after he blazed over the crossbar.

The dogs strutted their stuff for a panel of judges who selected the very finest specimen from the monstrous mutts. Last year's World's Ugliest Dog prize went to a 3-year-old, 125-pound (57-kilo) Neapolitan Mastiff named Martha.

Uruguay edge Saudi Arabia to advance
Uruguay was the only South American team to win its opening match in a tournament where upsets have been commonplace. Many fans took to social media to joke that they now knew what FIFA stood for - "Football Is not For Arabs".

Lukaku and Hazard lead Belgian blitz of Tunisia
Belgium took the lead inside six minutes, Eden Hazard converting a penalty after he had been brought down by Syam Ben Youssef. Tunisia captain Khazri grabbed their second goal just before the final whistle of their second defeat in Russian Federation .

Still, thousands of Denmark fans in a stadium seemed happy enough at the final whistle. The 33-year-old made his only save in the 54th minute, spilling Christian Eriksen's free-kick before pouncing on the loose ball.

France, who has been unbeaten till now in the tournament, defeated Australia by 2-1 and Peru by 1-0 earlier. We played to get the result and we did it. They met a solid Danish defense content with the draw. Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel clawed the shot wide and Ricci and VAR settled for the corner. Even the top World Cup teams will have difficulty scoring against the Danes.

The Danes are now likely to face Croatia, who are leading Group D and play Iceland later on Tuesday. They will discover their opponents in the next round later on Tuesday, with Argentina needing to beat Nigeria in Saint Petersburg to stand a chance of qualifying.
