Apple’s WWDC 2018: What to Watch For

On Apple TV (2nd generation or later) with latest tvOS, WWDC can be found in the Apple Events channel.

Though WWDC is pretty much a software-centric event, do not be surprised if there is some movement on the hardware front too.

For the second year in a row, the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California is hosting Apple's time-honored Worldwide Developers Conference, which was moved from that same location to San Francisco's Moscone Center back in 2003.

The Verge keeps their predictions simple and writes that the introduction of iOS 12 and macOS 10.14 is coming. However, following that leak from the end of December, blogger John Gruber explained last month that Marzipan is more like a declarative control API, and noted that it likely won't materialize until iOS 13 arrives in 2019.

This development might be an indication of what's to come on the software front.

Not much is now known about macOS 10.14-however, Apple is known to be working on a software development framework to bring macOS and iOS applications closer together.

This year, analysts think Apple will focus on incremental improvements to make its software more reliable - and be less disruptive in our lives.

The outperformance can be attributed to the strong performance of iPhone along with gradual expansion of the company's services business that include revenues from Internet Services, App store, Apple Music, AppleCare, Apple Pay, and licensing and other services. The company has confirmed that its WWDC 2018 will be held on June 4, which is today.

A new report from Bloomberg also suggests this, with rumors that much like Google in Android P, Apple is going to make a new "Digital Health" feature created to help you better manage your time on your device a big focus of iOS 12.

As for the hardware, no one really knows outside of the Infinite Loop.

Plenty of online chatter seems to suggest that there will be no new MacBook Pros or MacBook Air computers announced. Last September, Apple announced a wireless charging system, called AirPower, that it said would be capable of charging products such as the iPhone X, AirPods and Apple Watch.
