The move, should it come to fruition, will bring an end Rooney's second spell at Goodison Park.

Rooney is Manchester United and England's all-time record goalscorer, the victor of six Premier League titles, a Champions League, a Europa League, an FA Cup and three League Cups - not that it really feels that way either.

In his 13 years at Man United, he won five Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Jamaica and DC United striker Darren Mattocks said he is looking forward to partnering with former England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, who is said to be in talks to join the Major League Soccer (MLS) club.

Rooney would not be able to play for DC United until July, when the next MLS transfer deadline opens, but that would be in time to make his debut at the all new Audi Field.

If Rooney is still owed outstanding payments, this could mean that the first year of Rooney's contract at DC United will be paid for by three different clubs.

Everton's Wayne Rooney is waiting to see what happens with the club's managerial situation before deciding what he does with his future, according to the Guardian.

Rooney reacted angrily to being substituted against Liverpool in a 0-0 draw last month and is the club's top scorer with 11 goals but hasn't found the back of the net since December.

However, after reports claimed Sam Allardyce would be unable to guarantee the 32-year-old a starting berth at the Toffees, it now appears a move to America is a very real possibility for Rooney.
