Punk aesthetic and all. From the swamplands and jungles where enemies lurk among the dense foliage, to the open deserts where a passing vehicle is more likely to mow you down than offer you a ride, the world of Rage 2 is not a gentle, nurturing place.

The open-world mayhem experts from Avalanche Studios are now bringing their talents to 'Rage'.

As was discovered yesterday, id Software is developing the sequel with Mad Max developer Avalanche Studios.

The game is set during 2185, where humanity's numbers are dwindling. The remaining humans form gangs, while the Authority tries to "rule with an iron fist".

You play as the last Ranger, Walker, and you're going after many gangs as well as The Authority - an oppressive faction who took everything from Walker and left them for dead.

Just as they promised, Bethesda has given a first look at how Rage 2 actually plays and confirmation that id Software is involved.
